This is a worldwide organisation with local and national groups. we also collect stamps to help to train guide dogs for the blind. To find out more about this visit www.rnib.org.uk
The company was started by Nicolette Gordon following a lifetime of crafting in one form or another from sewing & cross stitch, to art, pottery and poetry writing. She came to card making around 2 years ago and that led on to her ebay store, the Crafty Card Supplies, finally resulting in Crazy About Craft. Our commitment to first class customer services is our main priority.
Environmental Policy
We recognise that our operations as a business have an effect on the local, regional and global environment and as such strive to reduce these impacts wherever possible. We are committed to continuous improvements and will strive to meet or exceed environmental regulations, laws and codes of practice. Where no such legislation exists, we will set our own standards as consideration of the environment is a key element of operating in a socially responsible manner.
We consider the environmental impacts of products we purchase at all stages of their life cycle from manufacture, end use and disposal. As such we internally reuse as much of the packaging that goods are sent to us in as possible. This means that whilst recycling is always good, reusing can often be a better option. To this end, we will reuse card from packaging to protect fragile items. This does not mean we are cheapskates, just that we have made a commitment to reducing environmental impact.
Purchasing
Wherever possible we purchase recycled paper and envelopes. We also re-use envelopes and packaging used to supply our goods to us where it is appropriate to do so. As such you may receive your items in boxes that have already been used. This helps us keep postage costs which benefits you the customer and also assists us with our commitment to reducing damaging effects businesses have on the environment. Under no circumstance will your item be shipped in packaging unsuitable to protect it during transit.
Printing
Wherever possible our documents are printed double sided. We also strengthen our commitment to the environment by not printing documents needlessly. Any surplus paper that we have, for example, following changes to letterheads, is not discarded but is used in other ways, for example as notepaper or in the fax machine. As a customer, you will receive an e-mail invoice for your order. We will not send printed invoices unless our customers request them or, unless a large order has been placed.
We actively discourage organisations from sending hard copy documents/brochures etc. unless this is unavoidable. Thus helping to reduce transportation effects on the environment.
Recycling/Waste management
We recycle all unwanted paper, envelopes and cards. We also recycle CDs, plastic bottles, tin cans and packaging, toner cartridges and mobile phones in a responsible manner.
We collect postage stamps for Guide Dogs for the Blind. As an eBay trader, some people pay us with cheques or postal orders and it's great to be able to give something back. (If you would like information on this scheme, please visit the GDBA website (link opens in new window). They also recycle mobile phones and inkjet toners.
Energy Saving
We purchase energy saving light bulbs and where appropriate, keep lights turned off. Machines and lights are switched off at the end of each day or when we are out of the office for several hours. The heating of our premises is turned off during summer months and only turned back on when it is actually cold at an appropriate temperature for the weather.
Travel
It is our general policy to use public transport to attend meetings and conduct the course of our work and taxis where absolutely necessary.
